Course Description
This interdisciplinary studio course addresses the language, processes, and media of visual art through lectures and discussions that investigate the nature of art making and visual thinking. Course projects utilize autobiography guided by the concept of Biomythography—a literary style of composition that mixes myth, history and biography to highlight the idea of internal, external and multiple selves —while experimenting with alternative materials and unconventional ways of creating images.
Through a process of self-examination and self-discovery, you will examine ways to visually incorporate your personal vocabulary and communal customs while exploring notions of representation through different cultural lenses.
