Gain a detailed understanding of genes from a perspective of structure and function. You learn details of nucleic acid structure, mechanisms of replication, repair, recombination and gene expression; you also examine the importance of nucleic acid/protein interactions in the context of these various mechanisms. Throughout the course, you get an introduction to a wide range of molecular biology methods that are currently in use in both academic and industrial research laboratories.
